Royal Avenue Tennis Centre – Tennis Policy
Vision Statement
- We aim to create a happy environment where people can play both competitively and socially; laughter is encouraged; the whole community is given an opportunity to participate and everyone has a fabulous time playing a tremendous game.
- There may be an odd occasion where you or your child’s photo is put on our notice board or on our website. If you don’t give consent please notify us.
- A Centre Manager / coordinator shall be on duty in the complex during all hours of operation or whenever the complex is open to the public.
- The complex shall be open to persons who are on the premises for specific tennis programs, or other associated activities or functions.
- The Centre Manager / Coordinator or his/her appointee may implement, any action deemed necessary to protect the health and welfare of the public, employees or the complex.
- Only McKimm Tennis Professional Coaches are authorized to teach at the facility. Outside Tennis Coaches will be asked to leave the complex and members may have their privileges revoked.
- Unattended children under 8 years of age are not permitted to remain in the Centre.
- Appropriate tennis attire must be worn on the court while playing.
- Shirts must be worn.
- Tennis shoes are required on all courts, ripple souls are not allowed.
- The Centre is a Smoke free zone.
- Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the Centre.
- Drinks and food are permitted on the courts, but no gum or tobacco is permitted.
- Profanity, loud noises, racquet throwing, abuse of Centre property, etc. will not be tolerated. Failure to comply will result in suspension from the complex.
- All tournament players and spectators are expected to follow the TA code of conduct; if anyone at any time behaves disrespectfully toward others, they will be asked to leave the complex. Depending on the severity of the behavior, individuals may be banned from any future use of the complex.
- All participants and/or groups using the complex shall be responsible for any personal items brought into the facility and shall remove same at the end of each scheduled use time.
- All McKimm Tennis and Royal Avenue Tennis Centre owned equipment will be returned to its designated place within the complex with or with out the direction of the Coordinator.
- Tournaments and match/league play take precedence over members and/or public court hire if at any time all courts are needed for these events.
- It would be appreciated if all players and spectators attending the centre assist in keeping it in a clean, pristine state.
- No animals of any kind except those serving the needs of the disabled are permitted in the complex.
Services
- The Centre provides a wide range of coaching programs catering for the whole family. There are also a variety of tennis competitions / tournaments / leagues and social activities.
Court Use
- The public have the option of paying court hire or becoming members.
- Please be quiet when walking or waiting behind courts.
- When claiming a court, wait until the exiting players have finished a point or rally before entering.
- As a courtesy to players with a reservation following yours, please be ready to exit a court at the exact end of your reserved time.
- Do not enter adjacent courts (when in use) to retrieve stray balls. Wait until your neighboring players have finished a point, and then ask them to return your ball.
Special Events
- Persons/groups using the facility shall be responsible for the breakage, loss or damage to the facility and equipment and shall bear the full replacement cost for such breakage, loss, or damage.
Pro Shop
- The Royal Avenue Tennis Centre will operate a pro shop. All pro shop items are non-refundable. Credit notes may be issued for returned products.
- No outside vendors may provide and/or sell goods and/or services at the Tennis Centre without prior approval from the Centre Manager / Coordinator.
- Racquets will be available for rent at the pro shop. The fees are as follows - $2 for regular racquets and $4 for high end racquets, keys or I.D are to be left.
